Library Improvement Project
The Dr. Phillips Rotary Club is proud to have been the driving force behind a series of projects designed to improve and enhance our community library, the Southwest Library at Dr. Phillips. The original project in 2006 featured improvements to the entryway and the children’s area. Fundraising was the most successful in the Club’s history, raising over $60,000,including matching grants from both the Orange County Library System and the Dr. Phillips Foundation. Our successful A Taste of Dr. Phillips(c) events have provided funding for additional library enhancement projects, including an adult reading room and courtyard landscaping at the main entrance. The project chair for the library projects has been Club Past President Rich Maladecki. The honorary chair for the earlier phases was former County Commissioner and now County Mayor Teresa Jacobs.
